Writer: Ashmit YadavAshmit Yadav

Chapter 1: A Legend Assembles

In the 1970’s, in Hokkaido Japan, a boy was born in a Farmer’s family and was named Kazuhiko Nagata. Growing up, Kazuhiko always liked driving and fixing the farming truck rather than farming. At the age of 16 he bought his first car: a beat-up Mitsubishi Galant GTO. He fixed the car with his neighbour who was an employee at Toyota.

Alas, Kazuhiko made a mistake driving the car to his school. Driving a car at that age was illegal in Japan; this incident ended up expelling him from his school. His neighbour saw this and ended up helping him in securing a job at Toyota, making him the youngest employee in the whole company; this only meant that he had to work harder. He bought an old Toyota Celica and, with all his knowledge from his work, he modified it. He street raced with his Celica through the tunnels of Japan and spent a lot of time on it. When his superiors found out about this, they fired him. With all the knowledge Kazuhiko has gathered of working 4 years in Toyota, he moved to the world-famous place of street racing.

Chapter 2: Revving Up the Engine

In Tokyo, he worked in a well-known tuning company called Trust. He packaged performance parts and used to work after hours for free just to get his racing itch out of his soul. He was eventually promoted to a mechanic. He was a fantastic worker but he started to use many valuable company resources on his own cars; However, when the superiors found this out they could not fire him because he was too valuable for the company. So, they made an agreement with him, a top secret agreement: he could use the resources, but he will have to work for the company. But this lasted for only a year and Kazuhiko set out to build his own tuning shop The name of the shop?

top secret.

A huge success right off the bat, He eventually bought a car to publicize his shop. He built the car, which in turn pushed some serious power. He took the car to the aqua tunnels in Japan and did runs at night dodging traffic in a whooping 200 km/hr+ range. This earned him the respect of various tuners in Japan. Kazuhiko also loved doing burnouts everywhere thus he earned the name Smoky Nagata. But Smokey’s dreams were big. He wanted to be infamous and to tell the world that top secret meant something. Smoky donned the hat of Frankenstein himself to build a 1000hp supra! He was invited by a magazine called Max power to a show in the UK where he had planned to showcase the car; At night, the people at Max power challenged Smoky to do a top speed run on the British public highway.

Chapter 3: Slam the Brakes

The car was illegal to drive on British roads, but if we have learnt one thing smoky it is that he wasn’t the kind of guy to step down from a challenge. So, at 4 AM on a rainy night, smoky drove up the ramp of A1 highway of British midlands and did one massive burnout in the middle of the highway and set off. It took smoky a total of 3 runs to achieve his goal. He flew past everyone on the highway at an exhilarating speed of 312km/hr and set the world record for maximum speed achieved on a public highway. Smokey was truly, on his heart and of those who witnessed this feat, on top of the world at that moment.

Then, He saw flashing lights. The British cops. He was arrested on the spot and was taken to jail. His punishment? A mere fine of 155 pounds and a ban from entering Uk for 10 years, just a slap on his wrist considering the speed he achieved.

Chapter 4: Here we go, again

By the time smoky got out of all the legalities, he wasa global icon. He was on the front page of every news outlet and his company became the synonymous with unmatchable speed and daredevilry. As for our man Smoky, he continued to make extremely fast cars and did many public highway top speed runs in his home country.

Smoky Nagata, once our curious farmer-boy Kazuhiko, was now the God of Speed.
